Police this morning (24 December) arrested an 18-year-old man following an armed robbery in Epping.
Investigators were told a 19-year-old man was walking along Cooper Street when he was approached by a man who allegedly demanded money from the victim just after midnight.
The victim was then allegedly assaulted and the man produced a knife and threatened the victim.
The victim’s mobile phone was stolen and the offender fled on foot.
Police arrested the man a short time later and he is currently in police custody.
The victim sustained minor facial swelling and bruising and his mobile phone was recovered nearby.
