EAGLEHAWK, VIC. — Two men have been charged after police seized several allegedly stolen firearms during search warrants in the Bendigo area this week.
Detectives from the Western Region Crime Squad attended two properties in Eaglehawk as part of a firearm theft investigation on Wednesday, July 15.
Upon searching the properties, officers seized three allegedly stolen firearms and a drone, which police will allege were stolen during a burglary at a rural property in Corop on Saturday, July 11.
A further four firearms were also seized, with police continuing to investigate their origin.
A 31-year-old man with alleged Outlaw Motorcycle Group (OMCG) links was arrested and later charged with burglary, three counts of theft of a firearm, four counts of theft, possessing a traffickable quantity of firearms, possessing a category handgun and being a prohibited person possessing a firearm.
A 35-year-old man was charged with burglary, three counts of theft of a firearm, four counts of theft, possessing a traffickable quantity of firearms and possessing a category handgun.
The pair, both from Eaglehawk, were remanded to appear before Bendigo Magistrates’ Court later today.
