Truck driver charged following fatal collision

BENDIGO, VIC. — Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) detectives charged a man following a fatal collision in Bendigo on October 10, 2025.

Emergency services were called to reports that a truck had collided with a pedestrian on near Girton Grammar School, High Street just after 8.30am.

The pedestrian, 15-year-old Thom Hosking was walking to school when he was struck by a truck. Sadly, he died at the scene.

The truck driver, a 36-year-old Sebastian man, was not injured.

He has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, driving manner dangerous, careless driving and failing to give way at a pedestrian crossing.

He was bailed to appear at Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on November 11.
