BROADMEADOWS, VIC. — Detectives from the North West Metro Regional Crime Squad today charged a man as part of an ongoing investigation into a firearms incident in Glenroy last month.

Yesterday, detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Riggall Street, Broadmeadows, where police located and seized, including handguns, a shotgun, and an air rifle.

Police will allege that quantities of cannabis and methylamphetamine (MDMA) were also located, along with a clandestine illicit drug manufacturing laboratory.

A 42-year-old Broadmeadows man was arrested and has since been charged with several offences:

    • possessing a traffickable quantity of firearms;
    • eleven counts of being a prohibited person possessing a firearm;
    • Four counts of possessing a prohibited weapon;
    • Possessing cartridge ammunition;
    • Trafficking a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine (MDMA);
    • Two counts of possession of cannabis;
    • Possessing methylamphetamine;
    • Two counts of possession of GHB;
    • Three counts of possession of prescription medication;
    • Possess heroin;
    • Dealing with (or in) property suspected of being proceeds of a crime;
    • Possessing a radio communications device without a licence for such and
    • Handling stolen goods.

He was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later today.

Two men, aged 53 and 19, along with two women, aged 19 and 46, were interviewed and released pending summons.

The arrests relate to an incident where shots were allegedly fired in Belair Avenue, Glenroy on October 27, 2025 and a second incident where shots were allegedly fired on Lewis Street, Glenroy, on March 4.

A 30-year-old Glenroy man was charged the same day after it was alleged five firearms, including an AK-47, were seized from a Glenroy home under a warrant.

The investigation remains ongoing.
