A woman has had her car impounded after allegedly being caught five and a half times over the legal limit in Pakenham on Wednesday.

Cardinia Highway Patrol officers were on patrol when they spotted a white MG wagon travelling southbound on McGregor Road about 11.55pm.

Officers intercepted the vehicle on Park Boulevard, and the 43-year-old driver underwent a preliminary breath test.

She then underwent a roadside evidentiary test, where she returned an alleged reading of 0.263 per cent BAC.

The woman’s licence was immediately suspended for 12 months, and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days for $1445.

She is expected to be charged on summons with traffic offences.
