SUNSHINE, VIC. — More than 40 firefighters responded to a significant fire in Sunshine, where two houses have caught alight. Another home has suffered smoke damage.

The fire was reported at Cornwall Road at 6.45am and firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes.
 
Upon arrival, crews found the back of a single storey weatherboard property was well alight.
 
Thankfully, all occupants had evacuated the premise and were accounted for.
 
Crews immediately escalated the response, sending additional appliances and firefighters, including an aerial appliance.
 
Fierce winds pushed the fire onto two adjoining properties, causing three properties to catch alight in total.
 
The fire is generating significant smoke.
 
A community advice notice has been issued for Braybrook and Sunshine, with strong winds blowing smoke across the communities.
 
There is currently no threat to the community, but people should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.
 
The fire was declared under control at 8.20am.
 
Ambulance Victoria and Victoria Police are on scene assisting.
