Statewide Total Fire Ban tomorrow

Tuesday, 15 January has been declared a day of TOTAL FIRE BAN for Victoria.

No fires can be lit or be allowed to remain alight in the open air from 12:01am on Tuesday, 15 January until 11:59pm Wednesday, 16 January.

No fire can be lit in the open air or allowed to remain alight from 12.01am to 11.59pm. Tractors, chainsaws, grinders, mowers or any equipment that may generate sparks should only be used if absolutely necessary.

Victorians should also make sure they have access to more than one source of information, including:

–          ABC local radio (774kHz AM ABC Melbourne, 97.7FM ABC Goulburn-Murray, 94.5FM UGFM (Kinglake Ranges), commercial and designated radio stations of Sky News

–          The VicEmergency App for iOs and Android smart phones/tablets; The VicEmergency website www.emergency.vic.gov.au;

–          The VicEmergency Hotline on 1800 226 226 and/or the CFA or VicEmergency on Twitter or Facebook
