Take me to the April sun in Kinglake

Kinglake Ranges has today (April 11) recorded its warmest April temperature this century  at 3:13 p.m.

ABC Radio Melbourne (774kHz AM) afternoon newsreader Jim Graham stated on the 3 p.m ABC Radio news bulletin that “in the city [Melbourne] at the moment it’s 21 degrees.”

At 3 p.m. it’s 30.3c degrees at 28 per cent humidity in Kinglake Central in a rare occurrence for the Kinglake Ranges – which is usually four to five degrees below the Melbourne temperature – throughout the year.

Ten degrees above the Melbourne temperature is very unusual for the Kinglake Ranges, with the district’s best summer days struggling to be five degrees above Melbourne.

Currently in Buxton it’s 30c, Marysville 29.4c, Healesville 27.8c, Coldstream 29.2c, Lake Eildon 27.7c, Kilmore Gap 29.4c, and Melbourne 20.9c at 3 p.m.

Geelan Media proprietor Ashley Geelan began operating Kinglake’s first Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) approved weather station to World Meteorological Organisation standards in 2000.
