Detectives from the Homicide Squad have this evening charged a man following the death of another man in Geelong last night.
A 34-year-old Geelong man was arrested this afternoon on Elizabeth Street in Melbourne’s CBD.
He has subsequently been charged with one count of murder.

He appeared in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court overnight.
An 82-year-old New Zealand man was staying in the upstairs accommodation at the Sir Charles Hotham Hotel in Brougham Street, Geelong when police believe he was attacked by another guest at about 11:40pm.
It is believed the 34-year-old was staying in another room at the pub at the time of the alleged attack.
