CRAIGIEBURN, VIC. — Homicide Squad detectives have laid a further charge as part of their investigation into the death of a 15-year-old boy in Craigieburn on Wednesday, July 1, at about 7.50pm.
A 20-year-old Beveridge man, who was initially charged with criminal damage by fire, has now been charged with being an accessory (after the fact) – homicide.
The Beveridge man was arrested and interviewed by detectives on Wednesday, September 16.
The charge follows an incident where a Mickleham boy was located with stab wounds outside a medical centre on Lygon Drive on Wednesday, July 1, at about 7.50pm.
CPR was performed by a staff member from the nearby medical centre, but the teenager died at the scene.
Detectives previously charged a 14-year-old boy from the Hume area, a 15-year-old boy from the Craigieburn area and a 16-year-old boy from the Goulburn Valley area with murder in relation to the incident. Their matters remain before the courts.
A 15-year-old girl from the Fawkner area was charged with affray and theft of a motor vehicle. She was bailed at the time to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
The Beveridge man appeared before the Bail and Remand Court (BARC) on Wednesday evening, where he was remanded back to the BARC to appear last night.
