Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 22-year-old Cranbourne man following a house fire in Cranbourne yesterday.

Emergency services were called to reports of a house on fire in Roberts Road, Cranbourne about 4.30pm.

One person home at the time evacuated safely.

The fire caused extensive damage to the property. Four adjoining properties were evacuated as a precaution. There were no injuries.

Swift acting officers arrested a 22-year-old Cranbourne man at the scene who was charged with criminal damage by fire.

He was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today, December 5.
