ALTONA NORTH, VIC. — Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) detectives have charged a man after shots were fired into a business in Altona North on Tuesday, May 12.
Police allege shots were fired from a blue station wagon into a business on Borrack Square just after 5.30pm.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police arrested a 32-year-old man at 5pm on Friday, May 29, outside the Broadmeadows Police Station, with the assistance of the Special Operations Group (SOG).
A vehicle related to the man was searched at the scene.
Investigators located an allegedly stolen sawn-off shotgun with cartridges and a high-calibre revolver handgun with ammunition.
The Gladstone Park man was charged with:

- Discharging a firearm at premises with Reckless Disregard for Safety While Carrying Out Serious Indictable Offence (Reckless Conduct Endangering Life);

- Discharging a firearm at a premises;

- Two counts of the theft of a motor vehicle;

- Handling stolen goods;

- Two counts of possessing a firearm when (a) Firearm Prohibition Order applies; and
-
- [Being] a prohibited person possessing (a) firearm.
He was also charged with aggravated burglary and criminal damage by fire following an incident at a business on Mickleham Road, Tullamarine on May, 4, 2026.
He is expected to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later today.
A 36-year-old Gladstone Park woman, who was in the company of the male at the time of his arrest, was also arrested and interviewed in relation to unrelated matters.
She was released pending further enquiries.
An investigation into the shooting continues.
