Police have charged three men after an allegedly stolen black Holden Commodore was tracked and chased through multiple suburbs on Friday afternoon.

The Commodore, which was allegedly stolen on Thursday night, was tracked in Melbourne’s north-east about 2.50pm.

With assistance from the Air Wing, the vehicle was followed through Chadstone as police attempted to intercept the car on Punt Road before it allegedly sped off.

Police allege the occupants dumped the car at a fast-food restaurant car park on Canterbury Road in Blackburn South before fleeing the scene in a waiting black ute, which was allegedly stolen.

The ute was involved in a collision with another vehicle on Orchard Grove.

There were no injuries, and the black ute did not stop at the scene.

Three men allegedly got out of the ute in Blackburn South and fled the scene on foot.

A 36-year-old Dandenong man got onto a bus where he was arrested whilst a 24-year-old Doveton man and 31-year-old Burwood man entered a property in Blackburn South and were arrested a short time later.

The trio have been subsequently charged and will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later today in an out-of-sessions hearing.
