Indi Budget Impact Survey released

Dear Editor,

The Indi Budget Impact Survey Report is out now. It details the 998 responses from Indi to the 2018/19 Federal Budget gained through a survey process asking “what does it mean to you?”.

Among the respondents were 32 Murrindindi Shire residents. They highlighted taxation, education and training, health and aged care, renewable energy and climate change and social security services as major issues. Key actions achieved for those topics during the past 12 months are noted in the report.

It was heartening to see more than 18 per cent of responses came from young people in Indi. Samples of those responses can also be found in the report.

The report will help to guide my work in parliament going forward. It will also be presented to Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Cabinet and the opposition to help them understand rural and regional responses to the Budget.

For a copy of the report, call my Wangaratta office on (03) 5721 7077 or Wodonga office on (02) 6024 6284 or email cathy.mcgowan.mp@aph.gov.au. It is also available at www.cathymcgowan.com.au [or by clicking Indi Budget Impact Survey Report ].
