Detectives are investigating a home invasion in Carlton in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Detectives are investigating a home invasion in Carlton in the early hours of Saturday morning.

It is believed two unknown males riding pushbikes stopped outside a Drummond Street home when a verbal altercation occurred between the occupants and the two unknown males about 1:30am.

One of the occupants confronted the males before they pushed past him entering their home and damaging numerous items inside before assaulting the occupant.

A 22-year-old Carlton man received a minor injury not requiring medical treatment.

Both males fled the scene northbound on Drummond Street.

The first male is perceived to be caucasian in appearance, aged in his 20s or 30s, wearing a black hoodie, green/khaki pants and baseball cap.

The second male is perceived to be caucasian in appearance, aged in his 20s or 30s, wearing a white t-shirt, black shorts, baseball cap and backpack.
