Three men have been charged with trafficking drugs after police seized more than $100,000 worth of MDMA and cannabis in Melbourne’s southeast.
Polce intercepted a white Mitsubishi ASX Wagon on Kingston Street, Malvern East as part of a routine vehicle stop, just after 2am on Wednesday, April 2.
Police allege there was a strong smell of cannabis, and during a vehicle search, investigators uncovered a traffickable quantity of MDMA with an estimated potential street value of $60,000, 2kg of cannabis with an estimated potential street value of $40,000, as well as a quantity of cocaine and approximately 1L of 1,4-Butanediol.
Three men aged 21, 22 and 25 were arrested.
Following the vehicle stop, search warrants were executed at a hotel room in South Yarra, an apartment in Malvern East, and a home in Cranbourne East by members of the Prahran Divisional Response Unit.
During these searches, police seized cash, prescription medication, and almost 30 blocks of magic mushroom chocolate with an unknown value.
A 21-year-old man from Cranbourne East, a 22-year-old from Hinchinbrook, NSW and a 25-year-old man of no fixed address were charged with trafficking and possessing MDMA and cannabis.
All three were bailed to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on June 5.
