Two arrested after stealing a bus

Two men were arrested in Seaford last night after they broke into a bus depot and made off with a decommissioned passenger bus.

Two men were arrested in Seaford last night after they broke into a bus depot and made off with a decommissioned passenger bus.

The alarm was raised when a witness noticed two men with bolt cutters break into the depot on Milne Avenue at about 7:30pm.

Frankston police were quickly on the scene and sighted the decommissioned bus in Bardia Avenue travelling in convoy with a 2010 Holden Colorado utility.

Police activated their lights to intercept the vehicles before they pulled over.

The driver of the bus, a 43-year-old Dandenong man and the driver of the utility, a 34-year-old Seaford man were arrested at the scene.

The pair have been charged with theft of motor vehicle, possessing drugs and unlicensed driving.

Both men were bailed to appear before Frankston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 26.
