Police release images of masked animal rights activists inside Benalla Abattoirs

Benalla Police have released images of animal rights activists who allegedly occupied Benalla Abbatoirs in the hope of identifying the two masked individuals.

If unmasked they could assist police in their investigation into an incident at the Benalla Abattoirs between the 26th and 28th February 2019.

If you have any information on their identity, please contact the Benalla Police Station on (03) 5760 0200 or Crime-Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The abattoirs owner, Colin Sinclair last week told The Weekly Times the “activists left behind cameras hidden in machinery.”

While Colin Sinclair said the facility has been invaded by activists before — including incidents where livestock was stolen — it had never been to this extent.

“They stuck a camera in a machine and left it.

“That’s now in police hands, Sinclair said.”

Euroa state MP and Victorian Nationals deputy leader Steph Ryan said she was deeply concerned.

“Colin Sinclair has run the Benalla abattoir for 21 years.

“He and his family have a right to operate their business without intimidation,” Sinclair added.
