Whilst Defence Minister Richard Marles talks about America needing Australia in any – likely started by Trump – war with China, America has its own islands closer to China than Australia is.
Defence Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister, Richard Marles said yesterday that “Australia’s geography and continent would be crucial to any United States prosecution of a war with China.”
This is simply not true. It is an outright lie.
See the attached map in the main image. Any island or place that has “KH” on it is US soverign territory and is owned by the United States. For example, Hawaii as KH6 or KH7.
The United States of America has its own soveriegn islands, many of which are closer to China than any Australian territory is.
Guam, Hawaii, Wake Island, Kure Island, Midway, Northern Marianis, Baker Island, American Samoa, Jarvis Island and Kingman Reef are all Unites States soverign territorial islands throughout the Pacific Ocean.
America does not need Australia to use as its forward operating base, should Trump start a war with China which would have devastating consequences for Australian trade relations and our economy given China is Australia’s largest trading partner.
The United States could also move its Australian bases and Pine Gap to its own soveriegn islands. In reality America doesn’t really need us at all.
America has plenty of its own islands across the Pacific Ocean it can use if it wants to start a war with China. America doesn’t need Australia, they can uses their own Pacific Ocean isalnd terroritories that are US soverign soil and Australia can remain neutral.
Let Trump’s America fight any war it seeks with China from its own islands, not Australia.
