Before World War II, the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth of Nations was the western democratic world’s ‘superpower.’
Following World War II, the United States of America took over that role as Europe and the UK rebuilt their destroyed countries.
The current US President has thrown all that away.
It took over 100 years and World War II for the UK to lose its status as the world’s ‘superpower,’ as they rebuilt their country and America moved into the space. It’s taken the current US President less than six months to do to America what took over 100 years and World War II to do to the UK, Europe and Commonwealth Nations.
The difference is, though, that it was because of World War II that the UK lost its ‘superpower’ status to the United States.
The United States of America is now anything but ‘United’ in any aspect of governance.
We acknowledge that many Americans look on aghast, concerned at what is happening to their country. Sadly for those Americans, when the rest of the world hears the words “America” or the “United States” one’s mind association goes straight to the US President, and by default, every single American (sadly) is lumped in with the tinpot dictator.
In Australian high schools (6-12 schools for Americans) in the 1990s we were taught that Americans can’t even find another country on a world map or globe and that “if it didn’t happen in America it didn’t happen” and what we were taught in high school has now proven to be true. Yes, Australian teachers taught us all about how stupid Americans were in the 1990s. That has now proven to be accurate teaching.
America, the land of the uneducated, pick-up drivin’, gun-totin’, school kid shootin’ land of ‘the brave and free’.
The US President, all by himself, with assistance from the President’s appointments of sycophants and ‘blonde Barbie bitches’ has succeeded turning the United States of America into the very type of “shithole” country the US President continually ranted about during – and after – his first term and it’s much worse now in his second term.
Tourism? Going, going, gone. Who now wants to visit the shithole country (do you?) that is the United States when you will be deported for “bringing too many clothes” or because one’s skin colour isn’t white?
Not to mention the scientists, researchers, engineers and many other experts in their field who are (or will be) fleeing America as other countries welcome them to their nations with open arms, creating a massive US ‘brain drain’.
The irony is not lost, considering it was America that took in Albert Einstein, who delivered the nuclear bombs that ended WWII. Today, an ‘Einstein’ would be fleeing America to another country, because that’s how stupid the US President is.
Sorry, America, but you have gone backwards and lost the respect of most nations on earth.
Your President (who isn’t deserving of such a title) has destroyed America’s reputation globally in only a matter of months.
Cutting aid to second and third-world countries? Well, China quickly moved into that space and is moving into the space of everything else the US President is screwing up, which is at least a daily occurence.
The issue runs much deeper, though.
Even if – and a big if – there are free and fair elections in November 2028, it will take at least an entire generation now to restore the United States to its former status, and by then, China will have moved into the space anyway and no one will give a shit about America anymore.
Sorry, America, your status as the ‘superpower’ of Western democracy is over, and you can thank your current President for that.
