Kinglake Ranges Art Show 2018

Rotary Kinglake Ranges would love to have you join us again for the 7th annual Rotary sponsored Kinglake Ranges Art Show between November 23 and 25, 2018.

Spring means we should be in full creative mode – just look outside at all the wonderful flowering shrubs, bulbs and flowers. That’s great inspiration.

The venue is the Kinglake Community Centre, corner Extons and Whittlesea-Kinglake Road, with opening night on Friday November 23 at 7 pm.

All exhibits are on show Saturday and Sunday November 24 and 25 from 10 am to 4 pm.

There’s a website detailing all the information and application forms one needs to exhibit their artistic work.

Rotary thanks the Whittlesea Bowls Club who have once again sponsored the Best in Show Award with a tantalising $1500 to the winner.

Bendigo Bank will sponsor the Emerging Artist award for under 21 years as well as the Encouragement Award for those over that age.

The Kinglake Ranges Rotary Club also sponsors the “WOW” awards for primary school children.

Individual categories are:

Landscape (L) – Depiction of a landscape in any 2D medium.

Portraiture (P) – Portrait in any 2D medium.

Flora/Fauna (FF) – Depiction of animals or plants in any 2D medium.

Contemporary/Abstract (CA) – Abstract work in any 2D medium.

Photography (PH) – Any photograph taken by the exhibitor.

Textiles (T) – Any article created by the exhibitor whether sewn, patchworked, quilted, knitted or crocheted.

Three Dimensional (sculpture or other three-dimensional works).

Single Media (SM) – A 3D work in any single media (ie. Clay, wood, metal, etc.)

Mixed Media (MM) – 3D Works created using any combination of media.

Primary School as selected by individual schools (PS).

If you were one of the lucky students who participated in the recent watercolour classes with Julian Bruere, there is a special display and prize category for you to showcase what you have learnt at this class.

It can be a piece done in the class or afterwards – the only criteria is it is watercolour and was created after September 20, 2018.

Kinglake Ranges Rotary also thanks to the old hands who volunteered to again assist with the preparation, hanging and co-ordination of the Kinglake Ranges Art Show.

“Newbies are always welcome as sometimes you see something positive that we might have missed.”
