WAURN PONDS, VIC. — Waurn Ponds uniform officers couldn’t believe their eyes when they stopped at an intersection in Waurn Ponds today.
Officers observed a black Mazda CX5 at the intersection of Colac Road and South Valley / Pioneer Road about 10.10am, when something unusual caught their eye.
The vehicle was intercepted, and when officers approached, they found the driver in the front seat with a young child strapped to his chest in a baby carrier.
The 37-year-old man from Greater Geelong was issued a penalty notice for failing to ensure a passenger under 16 years old was appropriately secured.
He received a $407 fine and three demerit points.
The young child was placed into the appropriate seat before they continued their journey.
