MELBOURNE, VIC. — We’d like to thank all of our readers, sources, contributors, and everyone else in between.
From you, reading my work, to Alan Moir graciously allowing me to republish his editorial cartoons Monday to Friday for another year, thank you Mr Moir.
To the amateur ‘ham’ radio operators from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and around the world and even the International Space Station, thank you for your contributions.
To Rohan Dent, Sally Millard, Thomas De Mamiel, Simon Templar, ARRL, WIA, ISS, NASA, Ambulance Victoria, Fire Rescue Victoria, CFA, FFMV, PTV, Victoria Police, Federal Police, SES, Marine Services, Air Services Australia, among many others, we thank you for your contributions. I can not provide news without reliable and trustworthy sources on the ground in the real world.
An extra special ‘shout out’ to those who have left the ‘dead bird’ (X/Twitter) for Blue Sky, we now have more followers on Blue Sky in one year than over a decade on Musk’s dead bird. I thank you for your engagement and healthy debate of ideas. Thank you.
Like everyone, we’re having a break over Christmas, but if need be (such as a bushfire outbreak) we’ll be back at the desk and we’ll also be publishing a very special report on Christmas Day morning at 0300hrs ACST when the first ham radio operator went to air in Darwin on Christmas Day, 1974.
Thank you all for joining us. We look forward to serving the community and being the voice of the people – the man and woman on the street – and not those in positions of power – again in 2026.
We look forward to healthy debate, discussions of ideas and concepts and serving the community.
We’ll also be upgrading our newsroom over the summer break to operate completely off-grid under any circumstances, whether that’s mains power at 240V AC 10A or 15A, 400V three-phase AC at 32A and also off-grid via LiFEPO4 (lithium) and solar panels. If one power source fails, such as during a power outage from a storm, the next system automatically takes the power load.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you, your family and friends.
I sincerly thank you all.
May your Christmas news be good news. Stay safe, be well, and drive safely.
And that’s the way it is for 2025.
