Kerr, in an email response to Kinglake Ranges News, said the southern part of Indi is often ignored by candidates.
“I’ve had the misfortune of having to tell an elderly resident from Kinglake that his nearest early voting centre was 50 minutes away in Lilydale,” Kerr said.
Kerr also held discussions around Kinglake’s memorial church and had a presence at local markets. He visited Gaffney’s Creek – where the last Labor member for Indi Paul Jones was from to talk to residents.
He’s met with Murrindindi Council and visited Kinglake for a ‘street talk’ to discuss where the $750,000 committed by Bill Shorten should be spent.
“It [southern Indi] is often ignored by Members of Parliament and forgotten by bodies such as the AEC,” Kerr said.
Kerr visited Glenburn and Buxton to talk with residents about mobile blackspots.
“[It’s] crazy that we have three weeks of early voting when we should cut it down to two and include another early voting centre in the southern part of Indi,” Kerr said.
